Full TextWelcome to the first Newsletter of a research program on Ethnic Differences in Education and Diverging Prospects for Urban Youth in an Enlarged Europe (EDUMIGROM). Launched in March 2008 and funded within the 7th Framework Programme of the European Commission, the initiative brings together ten leading universities and institutes from across Europe for a three-year comparative investigation in ethnically diverse communities with second-generation migrants and Roma. Since our inaugural event, we have made a great deal of progress. With this first Newsletter, we present some of our activities and accomplishments to date. We also introduce several members of the EDUMIGROM Consortium and offer a glimpse into the research currently underway.
