Evaluation of the LEADER+ Program 2000-06

As part of a consultancy project funded by the EC’s Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development, CPS took part in an ex-post evaluation of the LEADER+ program 2000-06.  Following a set of evaluation questions determined by DG Agri, the aim was to provide a comprehensive review of the impact of this rural program on rural employment, social cohesion, local governance capacities and the general development of alternative strategies for dealing with pressures and problems faced in rural Europe. The project involved desk top reviews of relevant academic and practitioner assessments as well as a large scale survey of the managing authorities, the supporting administrative institutions and over 100 Local Action Groups from across Europe. The final report was accepted by DG Agri in December 2010.
